Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 June 2026

Who we are

Untype is a speech-to-text app for Windows, operated by Shimul Asgur (sole trader) in the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. You can reach us any time at shimul@asgur.co.uk.

The service

Untype lets you dictate by pressing a keyboard shortcut: your speech is turned into text and typed into whatever app you're using on your PC.

Your account

You must be 18 or over to use Untype. Keep your password safe — you're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has gained access.

Free trial and pricing

Your first 30 days are free. After that, Untype is pay-as-you-go: you're billed monthly, based on how much you use it. In a month you don't use it, you pay nothing. Payments are taken automatically through our payment provider, Stripe, from the card you saved at signup.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time from your account page. You'll still be billed for any usage before you cancelled, but nothing afterwards.

Acceptable use

Use Untype lawfully. Don't use it to break the law, infringe anyone else's rights, or attempt to disrupt, misuse, or reverse-engineer the service.

Accuracy

Speech-to-text isn't perfect, and transcripts may contain errors. Don't rely on Untype for anything safety-critical, and always check important text before you use it.

Availability

We provide Untype "as is" and "as available." We may update, change, or withdraw features, and we don't guarantee the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Your content

The text Untype produces from your speech is yours. The app and the service itself remain our property.

Limiting our liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from transcription errors or interruptions to the service. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending your access

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of its courts.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date updated at the top.

How to contact us
