Who we are

Untype is operated by UNTYPED LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17304854.

The service

Untype turns your speech into text and types it into whatever app you are using — by keyboard shortcut on Windows and Mac, and from the Untype keyboard on Android and iPhone.

Your account

You must be 18 or over to use Untype. You sign in with a secure link we email you — there is no password to remember. You are responsible for activity on your account, so keep access to your email secure, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.

What you pay

The keyboard is free. Speech is charged per interaction, as you use it, which is why a card is required at sign-up. Your first two weeks of speech, from the day you sign up, are free; after that you are billed for what you used, and nothing is taken in a month you do not speak. The rate is on the pricing page, and payments are taken automatically through Stripe from the card you saved.

Stopping charges

There is no subscription to cancel. To stop being charged, remove your card from your account page. The mic stops, the keyboard keeps working, and you are billed for what you had already used.

Acceptable use

Use Untype lawfully. Do not use it to break the law or infringe anyone else's rights, and do not attempt to disrupt, misuse or reverse-engineer the service.

Accuracy

Speech-to-text is not perfect, and transcripts may contain errors. Do not rely on Untype for anything safety-critical, and always check important text before you use it.

Availability

We provide Untype as is and as available. We may update, change or withdraw features, and we do not guarantee the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Your content

The text Untype produces from your speech is yours. The app and the service itself remain our property.

Limiting our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from transcription errors or interruptions to the service. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending your access

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of its courts.
